Please introduce yourself and tell us about a typical workday for you.
Hello, I’m Nguyễn Ngọc Anh Thy. Currently, I am the Regional Finance Controller at Hyatt, the largest tissue paper manufacturer in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and the fifth-largest globally.
How has the MBA program changed you?
The MBA program at Western Sydney University has helped me put myself in the shoes of other departments. For instance, in Budget Planning & Analysis (which involves analyzing data, consumption patterns, and company performance), I’m not directly involved in sales or direct budget utilization. Therefore, if we don’t understand how other departments operate, we might have a more Excel-centric view than an operational perspective.
Additionally, the instructors provided us with simulated scenarios to present case studies. Through these lessons, I gained a deeper understanding of the fundamental steps in marketing planning and budgeting.
What was the most significant aspect that made a difference for you in joining the program?
The value of the MBA program at Western Sydney University lies in its globally recognized accreditation. This is because it’s a combined program between UEH-ISB and Western Sydney University. Consequently, the program is aiding in my better career development prospects for the future.”
